The Beth Israel Latino Health Institute was happy to sponser an extraordinary concert at Carnegie Hall. The performance on this evening was by David Phillips, a gifted pianist who performs around the world, included a selection of elegant and dramatic compositions by Gershwin, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Albeniz – classics that stood the test of time to become audience favorites.
The Latino Health Institute’s goal was to expand and strengthen the wonderful relationships it had established with its many supporters. This recital was a "Thank You" to the invaluable work and commitment of its supporters.

David Phillips is a concert pianist who regularly performs and teaches in New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and New York's Juilliard School.
In a tour sponsored by the U.S. State Department, Mr. Phillips has traveled to Yerevan, Armenia where he made a debut appearance with the Armenian Philharmonic performing The Grieg Piano Concerto. He also gave a solo recital performing J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations at Komitas Chamber Music Hall and taught master classes at the Sayat Nova Music Academy.
Other recent appearances include performances with The Dubrovnik Symphony, The London Philharmonic, The San Antonio Symphony, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
In February 2006 he performed a solo recital in the Trinity Concert Series in New York City. In April 2006 he performed a solo recital on the Old First Concert Series in San Francisco. The following month, Mr. Phillips traveled to Croatia, as a guest of the U.S. State Department, where he performed as a soloist with the Dubrovnik Symphony. He also led master classes in Zagreb, Croatia.
In October 2006, Mr. Phillips gave a recital in New York City on the Donnell Library Concert Series. Last December he was a soloist with the Key West Pops Orchestra in Key West, Florida under Vincent Zito, performing Gershwin's Concerto in F.
Mr. Phillips recently performed a debut recital at New York's Carnegie-Weil Rectal Hall in February 2007. He will give a concert in San Francisco on the Old First Concerts series and reappear at St. Paul's Chapel New York City on the series Concerts at 1 pm.
Upcoming events include a solo recital in New York City on June 11, 2007 at the Donnell Library. This summer Mr. Phillips will also travel to Spain, Greece, Italy, Germany and France for festivals and solo recitals.
